Editorial from St. Anthony Falls Evening News July 2, 1859

This 'tongue-in-cheek' editorial refers to the children from the St. Anthony Universalist Society who were "uninvited" to the Fourth of July celebration picnic on Nicollet Island in 1859, because clergy from the other churches included in this "ecumenical" celebration concluded the invitation might compromise the purity of their teachings. All-Church Picnic at Beard's Plaisance

Celebrate Justin Schroeder's beginning of ministry to our church at an all-church family picnic following the service at the Lake Harriet bandshell on August 23. The picnic will be a half-mile away at the "Upper Lake Harriet" pavillion near 46th and Upton. Bette DeMars has secured the permit for us to use the picnic area, and there is a shelter so, rain or shine, nothing will stop the fun! Be prepared to compete in the UU Quiz Bowl to see how much you've learned about our church history, and bring everyone to join the fun and kick off the next 150!
